I'm originally from Aveiro, Portugal, a city famous for its beautiful canals and traditional Moliceiro boats. This scenic place has greatly shaped my sense of style. My career in the tech field took me to Berlin for a while, where I gained new skills and perspectives. I currently live in New York City, a place that constantly inspires my work in software development and photography.
My professional path has been tied by a profound engagement with technology, but it is in the art of photography where my creative spirit truly finds its voice. Over the years, I have meticulously honed my skills in software development, designing intuitive interfaces, and streamlining complex coding processes.
Since the beginning of 2025, I have been working on several projects focused on design, development, and user experience:
- WeatherToRun — a tool to help runners quickly check weather conditions and find the best time to run.
- Emily Mahar's Website — redesigned and developed the website for Emily Mahar, a freelance book cover designer.
Photography has been a beloved pursuit of mine for as long as I can remember. My portfolio showcases a broad spectrum of subjects and styles, from the delicate interplay of light and shadow in natural landscapes to the stark, emotive contrasts found in urban settings. Each image is a chapter in my ongoing journey of artistic exploration, reflecting my dedication to mastering this craft and my continuous pursuit of growth within this field.
Along with focusing on film photography these days, I am dedicating some time on a project on Instagram (@storyinmono), dedicated solely to the art of black and white photography. It challenges me to strip away the distractions of color, focusing instead on the raw textures and contrasts that shape the essence of my subjects. Here, every shade of gray tells a story, every highlight and shadow plays a crucial role in unfolding narratives that resonate deeply with the viewer. This project is not just about capturing images but about uncovering the layers of reality that exist in a world without color.
To make it easier for others to use my work for other creative projects, my photos are available on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and Pexels.
